I got this 3 x 5 inch 10 pack to test to see if the size is right for flat-pack freezing dehydrated food items like meats and eggs in serving sizes to keep them safe and viable for longer. I wasn’t sure the right size to get, so these give me a good idea. I was given 40 hot Italian sausages from Trader Joe’s that are just too hot to eat, but I cooked and crumbled, then dehydrated, them for using sparingly in soups and casseroles. I also dehydrate blended raw eggs when my chickens are laying too much in the summer so I’ll have eggs on hand in the winter months, and I’ve found they reconstitute well for scrambled eggs. These bags are a good size for the eggs but a little too big for my hot sausages. (I might have done better with the 2 x 2 inch size for those crumbles. Those things are HOT!) I can press out the air from these and seal, and then for extra protection chamber-vac them into larger storage bags. These would also work for dry storage on the shelves for things like dried vegetables that don’t have a higher (therefore spoilable) oil content.

The bags are as expected for 4 mil zip bags. I did not receive any broken ones in the 10 pack so YMMV but I’ve bought other iMailer bags before, and overall I’m more pleased with this brand than going with random brands.
Sizing is slightly bigger than 3×5, so if your items are 3×5 they will fit well. The 10 I received appeared to be consistent in size and quality.

The plastic is only 75% as thick as advertised. It measures 3 mil not 4 mil thick.

This review is for the 3” x 5” size bags. The description says the plastic is “4 mil” but they measure only 3 mils (0.003”) thick, not 4 mil thick as advertised. In my photo you see that a closed bag (two layers of plastic) measure 0.006” which means each layer (the actual plastic material) is only 0.003”. The plastic is only 75% as thick as advertised.
They do measure 3” x 5” internally so that part of the description is correct.
The zipper works well and is easy to open and close. The seams are good.
I was really hoping I was getting 4 mil thickness bags for my non-static sensitive electronic parts. Three-star because of the misrepresented thickness in the description.
